American Legion Post 408 and VFW Post 7253 of Derby Kansas presented Operation Freedom Memorial with checks totaling nearly $1800 representing fund-raising efforts at both posts during the last several months.

I have talked to Dallas and he is going to make Black-Eye peas for New Years Day. He said that they would be ready by 11:00 am.

There will be an Easter Egg Hunt April 8th @ 1pm in Hand Park, 633 S. Lakeview, Derby, Ks.The hunt will have three age groups: 0-4, 5-7 and 8-10 years old.

Operation Freedom Memorial will draw the winner for the Kimber .45 Raffle at 6pm during the Wednesday Burger Burn on Feb 15th. Winner need not be present to win. Some consolation prizes will be drawn and awarded to raffle ticket holders who are present.

VFW 7253 is hosting a "Thanksgiving Dinner" this Sunday at 4 PM OPEN to all American Legion & VFW members and their families at 4:00 PM Nov 20, 2011
When I asked what we would could furnish, I was advised to say "HELP" Steve (Mad Daddy) needs help Sat, 19 Nov at noon to carve turkeys and also Sunday, if you can help on Sunday please do - be at Post 1:00 PM .
Please help & support if you are able.

There will be a state wide VFW Riders State Meeting Dec 18th at 1pm held at VFW Post 7253 in Derby, Ks.

VFW KS Post 6957 - Haysville, KS will host the VFW 5th District Quarterly Meeting on October 8th, 2011. Doors open at 8am and the meeting starts at 9am.

The Mens Auxiliary of VFW 7253 purchased an Operation Freedom Memorial pave stone.

The VFW-Riders of VFW 7253 purchased an Operation Freedom Memorial pave stone. This solid granite paving stone will be inscribed with the VFW-Riders 7253 name, post and city and will be installed in the sidewalk leading into the Operation Freedom Memorial when it is constructed in Veterans Memorial Park in Wichita, Ks.
Operation Freedom Memorial is being built to honor and remember all U.S. Military Forces in their fight on the War on Terrorism including Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The granite panels will be inscribed with the names of all Kansas KIA.
The central walkway in the memorial will be composed of solid granite paving stones that can be purchased and inscribed with the name of any active duty or veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces from any time period. See www.ofm-ks.com for more details.

Under the "Other Info" main menu the "Kansas ALR Event List", VFW Current News Blog", VFW Current News Feed", "VFW Magazine (Monthly)", "VFW Checkpoint (Bi-Monthly)" and "VFW Washington Weekly" have been added to the website.

Today the VFW Riders 7253 have purchased a one year service of the VFW version of Eagleware's Veterans Website Platform. As well as the VFW Riders this website has the capability of handling the VFW, Ladies Auxiliary & Mens Auxiliary too and the VFW Riders 7253 have donated the first years service of the website to those organizations of VFW 7253 Derby, KS.
